I’m sitting here, a little earlier than what feels right. Over the top of the computer, through the back sliding doors, there’s a little gum tree. It’s golden with sunlight with blue sky surrounding it and green grass at it’s feet.
Two weeks ago, I met a super chilled, beaming, wonder woman, named Jess. She was getting married that afternoon. Through the window of the Thredbo apartment I saw what was formerly green and blue, turned grey to black. It was cold. And it was wet. And we were all nothing but smiles!
Matty and ‘The Boys’ grabbed the esky with their pinky fingers. It was full to the top but getting lighter with each beer drunk. We looked at the sky and I quietly contemplated the rhythm of the weather systems and their non abiding connections to love.
Family vibes and close mateship defined the hoots and massive cuddles in every direction. Jess and Matty had tied the knot and we couldn’t have been happier about it. They too looked chuffed!.
The Val cut a line through the mist and clouds before an oil painting of light that found me driving with me knees and marvelling at what I was hopefully capturing through my camera between windscreen swooshes. It looked incredible. Fast forward half an hour and snowballs were being flung at soggy bottomed warriors of fun. It was a Bridal Party internal war that was as good as it gets. The smiles just got bigger.
Through poetic visions what really happened was that too incredible people showed us what’s up when it comes to pure togetherness, and tapped in happiness, and that huge propensity for giving. I’m still feeling and couldn’t be more grateful to be a part of it.
Thanks Jess and Matt - you friggin’ smashed it!
