MEL + CARLITO {Natural Candid Wedding Photography}. 30-09-19
I bought a cheap umbrella and turned on the radio - Sydney was flooding the news report announced. This was readily verified by the high speed rotations of my windscreen wipers and the water gushing up the gutters and over the path outside the car. My car started, which I’m always thankful for (despite it being a newish kind of car I’m always paranoid that I’m going to be stranded somewhere unable to get to my clients Wedding). And I drove up from the Northern Beaches towards Chatswood. As I did the rain started to soften.
At the church we talked about the weather a bit and Carlos joked he’d be the guy running around in a wetsuit. But it was clearing up out there and besides, the church felt pretty water tight. It was a beautiful church. It was lit with chandeliers and was covered with artwork. It’s rare that as a Photographer I’m particularly excited about the visual creative opportunities inside churches, but this Armenian Apostolic church was an exception. And the ceremony was great to see unfold.
Mel and Carlito met me in Balmain for some photographs, and (of course) the rain had stopped, and the light was great. We cruised around this parkland near the water, and as they do, the photographic opportunities presented themselves as easily as my happily married clients smiled and embraced each other. It always feels so special for me to experience these intimate moments with my clients.
At Casa Porteno, we all got down to doing our thing, me taking photographs, and everyone else enjoying an awesome restaurant and great space to celebrate. The Argentinian BBQ was amazing. It was so nice to see everyone getting along like one big extended family. Smiles and conversations everywhere!.
My warmest congratulations to Mel and Carlito. I couldn’t be happier for you!

AMY + RICK {Cupitt's Winery Wedding Photography}. 12.10.18
If you need to read this you haven’t had a good enough look at Amy and Ricks Wedding Photo highlights above. Go back, soak them up, smile and feel your heart flutter. Move on. I’m going to give you a couple of informational tips though. Yep it was at the stunning Cupitt’s Winery in Milton. Yes, the sky was a photographers dream mix of sunshine, blue sky and the light overcast drape of cloud that makes us all look all that much sexier on our Wedding Day….And yep, Amy and Rick are indeed every bit as down to earth, happy, awesome people that love each other every bit as much as the photos indicate.
Word wise from vows to speeches, we were moved by all the stuff that goes in the ears as much as what tantalised the eyes. The vibe was fun, and fervently social - for a big group, there was a distinctive closeness that showed the strength of Amy and Rick’s community of friends and family. They sat at the centre of this celebration of….them…..with all the poise and humble regard of accustomed royalty. For good reason.
My thank you list goes to all involved. Ms Ebony Millard, the Wedding Celebrant, always brings a smile to my face with the great energy she brings - Amy and Rick’s Wedding being no exception. The lovely attentive generous Cupitt’s staff - thank you too. That DJ who left a beat in my step well beyond going home and hitting the couch with an oversized pack of potato chips. Wow, so good!. South Coast NSW for being so god damn beautiful. And last but not least, to Amy and Rick, so much gratitude and love to you both, for representing what all this stuff is and should always be about!.
